Position Summary:

The H.S.E. Manager will be responsible for facilitating the development, implementation, and maintenance of workplace safety programs. This position focuses on health and safety compliance to ensure all applicable regulation, codes and practices are being addressed and maintained. A strong collaborative approach in the implementation of programs and initiatives is essential in the success of this role. This position acts as an advisor, coach and mentor with field and corporate teams to identify, investigate, audit & resolve identified health & safety issues.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide a visible presence in the field by performing site visits and evaluations on company and client locations.
  • Respond to incidents and ensure that they are reported appropriately. Participate and assist in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause, and corrective actions where necessary.
  • Develop, implement and maintain health and safety protocols to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Prepare and deliver regular safety meetings, as required.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits as prescribed within the HSE-MS.
  • Utilize the OHSMS program (WorkHub) and various other industry platforms to ensure safety program compliance.
  • Assist in the coaching, mentoring and implementation of the HSE management system. Provide guidance and act as a resource for the Health and Safety Committee and Health and Safety Representatives.
  • Ensure new hires are orientated and all required documentation is completed accurately and forwarded to the head office.
  • Ensure safety boards with postings are maintained and current
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Prepare annual audit documentation.
  • Track and report safety and ESG statistics to the company and clients.

Position Requirements:

  • Technical certificate / diploma with a focus on occupational health and safety. A CRSP designation will be treated as a major asset.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for applicable jurisdictions.
  • Strong safety leadership and organization skills, with the ability to direct and achieve priorities, goals, and strategies with limited supervision.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to appropriately target communication to intended audience, ranging from presentations for workers and management to interactions and meetings with a variety of agency and community stakeholders.
  • Proficient knowledge of computers and typical office software applications (e.g., MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.),
  • Ability and desire to travel.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry.

Physical Requirements:

  • Good physical mobility and dexterity to conduct inspections under a variety of conditions
  • Normal physical strength & fitness to handle conditions consistent with position responsibilities.
  • Pre-employment drug / alcohol and fitness testing.

Evolution Power Projects is seeking several new Field Service Technicians/Drivers to join our team. We are a local provider of innovative power products, servicing a large geographic area with expansion plans. The right candidate will have strong mechanical inclination, and experience servicing/working with generators would be a tremendous asset. Heavy Haul Endorsement or Class One Drivers license required.

Our crews and operations rely highly on a culture of respect and loyalty. We work hard to foster friendship and promote a positive work environment whereby dedication and work efforts are appreciated and recognized by coworkers, management and customers.

Remote work often requires longer hours and time spent away from home. This is not a camp position; however applicants should have a Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract and be willing to travel between Alberta and BC. Field Service Technicians have the ability to earn overtime including double time. Evolution Power recognizes that a healthy work life balance demands time off and Holidays to enjoy family and friends and we do our very best to accommodate with a flexible, rotating schedule.

Compensation will be based on a combination of experience and knowledge. Hourly rate ranges between $32.00-$40.00 per Hour.

Overtime Paid after 8 Hours/Day, Double Time after 12 Hours.

Potential for bonus during busy periods, when financial metrics are met or exceeded.

Participation in Extended Health Benefits, past probationary period.

RRSP matching participation, past minimum employment period.

2 Weeks Assured holidays, with increase for time of service.

Evolution Power will pay for additional training and courses, where needed.

Mandatory Skills:

Applicants should be mechanically inclined with a valid Heavy Haul Drivers License Endorsement or Class One in good standing. Clean drivers abstract will be requested before hiring. Drug and Alcohol Screening required.

Willing to travel outside of Fort St.John when needed. Typically this would amount to 4-7 days per month spent in Alberta. Fort St. John, British Columbia must be your home base.

Mechanical abilities to assist with general maintenance program on light towers, generators, heaters, vehicles is an asset.

Physically fit and comfortable working in terrain that can be frozen, uneven, muddy, slippery, etc. Equipment set up and tear-down involves a degree of physical exertion including but not limited to lifting, reaching, pulling and occasionally mild heights.

Additional Skills

Broad Mechanical certification, training and or/experience would be an asset.

Broad Electrical certification, training and or/experience would be an asset.

Turbine generator knowledge and experience would be an asset.

H2S, First Aid, training provided if you do not hold these tickets currently.
